Exclusive for World Basking Shark Day!
It’s great to share some of our footage from the 2025 season on world basking shark day. After so many years, the sharks still have some surprises for us! Although we’ve seen torus behaviour in previous years which allowed us to contribute towards the paper describing them written by Prof Sims (see here). This year was the biggest numbers of basking sharks within torus and the biggest numbers of torus’s. We saw brand new behaviour we haven’t seen before (more of that in due course) and the most amount of breaching.
The weather for our peak season was much better than the previous year and allowed us more time offshore. However there was some hiccups with Storm Floris for example. Check out some highlights in the video below and look out for more content over the winter.
