Orca John Coe, back in the Hebrides

We have great news that John Coe has been spotted around the Hebrides after a long absence. The last confirmed sightings was at Rathlin Island in Northern Ireland in May and a lot of people were fearing the worst. Aquarius the other member of the west coast community pod had been much further south in Ireland but there were no confirmed John Coe sightings at all during that period. He is believed to be over 60 now which is very old for a male orca so he doesn’t have too long left unfortunately. We never know when our last sighting will be so it was fantastic to see him cruising along the coast of Coll & Tiree. He did seem to be on a mission travelling around 6-7 knots constant speed, it’ll be interesting to see where he goes next, perhaps back down to Ireland to meet up with Aquarius again.
